The MOT Test Warranty provides indemnity against the cost of repair to any of the components listed below which are deemed necessary in the event of the insured vehicle failing its annual MOT test & being issued with a MOT Failure Document (VT 30) during the period of warranty cover.

Liability under this extension is limited to a maximum of £250 (including VAT) during the period of warranty with a £10 customer excess applying to each & every claim.{see note 1 below}

This cover does not become operative until the vehicle is within 30 days of its next due MOT.

Items covered:-

Electrical & Lighting Equipment.

All lamps, bulbs & reflectors, headlight alignment, hazard lights & controls, horn, windscreen wipers & washers. (Excluding impact damage)

Brakes

All braking system components. (Excluding adjustments or frictional material related to normal wear & tear)

Steering & Suspension

All steering & suspension components & wheel alignment.

Seat Belt & Body

All seat belt components, front seat, mountings & back rest security & vehicle structure

General

Transmission shafts, wheel bearings, carburetor or fuel injection replacement if required to meet MOT exhaust emission standards.

General Exclusions

Road wheels & tyres, exhaust systems, windscreen, routine adjustment or damage resulting from impact or accident, cost of MOT & retest, repairs not completed within 30 days of issue of a MOT inspection report (VT30) failing the vehicle on its MOT test, advisory items cited on a MOT inspection report passing the vehicle on its MOT test & circumstances where the fault causing need for repair was evident prior to the expiry of the manufacturers warranty or subject to a manufacturers safety recall campaign.

Important points.

  • Cover does not become valid until 30 days prior to due MOT date
  • The applicable cost of the MOT & any retest are not covered by the warranty
  • Each claim is subject to a customer payable £10 excess
  • Maximum claim per policy capped at £250 including VAT {see note 1 below}
  • All repairs must be carried out within 30 days of vehicle being issued a (VT30) MOT failure document
  • Any failure caused as a result of a road traffic accident will not be covered under the warranty

{Note 1} We can also offer a greater value cover up to the maximum claim value of £750 including VAT at an increased premium, as a responsible garage we feel that the standard cover of £250 including VAT will be the most suitable for the majority of our customers, however customers with older cars or cars know to have high replacement parts costs may benefit from taking out the greater value cover, we will be pleased to advise you on our opinion for the best option of cover for your vehicle, if you feel you would gain greater benefit from the higher cover.
